Conservatory Complex

This year-round facility is a major attraction for Ames and all of Central Iowa with a Conservatory, the Christina Reiman Butterfly Wing, a Gift Shop, Hughes Auditorium, five supporting greenhouses, an events plaza, the Garden Room, and the Insect Rearing and Receiving Room, where visitors can watch the butterflies emerge from their chrysalides. The 5,000-square-foot Conservatory is filled with tropical plants, waterfalls and seasonal plant displays that change several times a year.
