3rd Annual Mid-Iowa Woodcarver’s Show: Adventures in Wood
Saturday, May 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Enjoy a fun and relaxing day of woodcarving, with carving instruction and demonstration available all day. This year’s featured carver is Denny Neubauer, who will be joined by three other instructors offering workshops in carving mini owls, name tags, helicopters, and “little guys”. Demonstrations will include power-carving birds and butterflies. There will also be children’s bug-making activities, led by Mid-Iowa Woodcarvers members. Visitors may try their hand at woodcarving activities if they are 13 years or older (signed parental permission forms necessary for children 17 or younger). The day will also feature a woodcarving competition, with cash prizes in three categories: People’s Choice, Woodcarvers’ Choice, and a Reiman Gardens’ Award. Participants can enter up to three carvings in the competition. Entries must be received by 9:00 a.m. on May 5th.
Free for CoHorts members and Iowa State students with ID. Price of admission for the general public.
