CANCELED - Co’Motion in the Gardens
Saturdays: July 7, 14, 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with an outdoor performance Sunday, July 22, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Get up and move, Ames with Co’Motion in the Gardens this summer. Valerie Williams' Co’Motion Dance Theater have partnered with Reiman Gardens this July for the first in a new series of Youth “Move-It” programming at Reiman Gardens. Focusing on active rather than learned movement for youth ages 8-14, this intensive workshop combines participants’ artistic interpretation of the “Nature Connects” LEGO® brick exhibit with inventive movement as well as health and nutrition education. Students will create concept choreography inspired by garden sculptures. Hummingbird wings, butterfly noses, buffalo and more will provide the movement inspiration throughout the gardens. Students will then showcase their favorites at a culminating performance on July 22. It’s a perfect way to “Move-It” this summer!
Note: For healthy moves, you need healthy food. Please bring a lunch to each session with at least 3 different colors of food, and a frozen bottle of water!
Pre-registration with payment is required by Wednesday, July 4.
Cost: $75 general public, $60 CoHorts members, and ISU students pay 15% off the member price
