Santa's Workshop in the Conservatory
Santa’s Workshop :: Conservatory (November 19 through January 6, 2013)
The Santa’s Workshop display in the Conservatory will feature a real workshop fit for busy elves. A green roof and a living wall are featured in the workshop because management of storm water and urban heat islands are on Santa’s nice list too! A red and green palette gives this year’s display a traditional, holiday appeal. Toys and surprises tucked into several large wreaths will adorn the hallway. Also, enjoy a flower tower of poinsettias, topiary reindeer, and a mailbox accepting letters for Santa.
The Iowa State University Culinary Science Club will create gingerbread displays for the main hallway. Under the advisement of Erica Beirman, Coordinator of the Culinary Science Program, seniors Samantha Mila and Ashley Swanson are heading up a project, designing, baking, and managing the construction of two unique gingerbread arrangements on view from November 17 through January 6.
